At Wonderbloom, we know that children don’t just need food to fill them up — they need food that fuels their bodies, supports their development, and sets them up with healthy habits for life.

That’s why every meal and snack we serve has been carefully thought through. We’re proud to offer fresh, homecooked meals each day, with no added sugar or salt, and a focus on real, whole foods that give children the energy and nutrition they need to thrive.

🥗 No More Puddings — Just Positive Eating

We’ve made a deliberate shift at Wonderbloom: No puddings. No sugary rewards. No empty fillers.

Instead, we’ve introduced healthy starters before our lunches — giving children even more exposure to vegetables and savoury flavours, while gently reducing the expectation for something sweet after every meal.

It’s not about restriction. It’s about resetting the norm. About helping children learn to love the taste of real, nourishing food — and developing a positive relationship with it from the very beginning.

🍽️ A Typical Day on Our Menu Might Include:

  • Breakfast: Low-sugar cereal, wholemeal toast and fruit

  • Morning Snack: Fruit platter with milk

  • Lunch: Ratatouille and couscous with a vegetable starter (e.g. crudités and homemade dip)

  • Afternoon Snack: Carb-based snack such as oatcakes or breadsticks.

  • Supper: Avocado & ham muffins

  • Drinks: Milk served with snacks to support healthy teeth and growing bones

It’s simple, nutritious, and designed to support everything from brain development to oral health — without the sugar highs and crashes.

🧃 Oral Health Matters Too

Healthy eating at this age goes hand in hand with oral health. Excess sugar, even in so-called “children’s foods,” can contribute to early tooth decay — something we’re actively trying to prevent.

By keeping sugar to a minimum and offering milk instead of juice or squash, we’re helping to protect little teeth while teaching children that drinks and snacks don’t have to be sweet to be satisfying.

👩‍🍳 Coming April: Cookery Club + Allotment Adventures!

To take our food ethos even further, we’re excited to launch Cookery Club in the nursery — giving children a chance to:

  • Explore where food comes from

  • Try simple, hands-on food prep activities

  • Learn about healthy choices through fun, age-appropriate cooking sessions

  • Build independence and confidence around food

We’re also installing an allotment in our garden, where children will help grow herbs, vegetables, and fruits — encouraging them to connect what’s on their plate to what they’ve grown with their own hands.

Because food education doesn’t just happen at mealtimes — it happens through experience, play, and discovery.

✅ Part of Our All-Inclusive Offer — or Bring Your Own

Everything above is included as part of our all-inclusive consumables option — which you can choose to opt in to for just £10 per funded day.

Prefer to provide your own meals? That’s absolutely fine too. You won’t be charged extra, and you’ll still receive the same level of care and communication from our team.

We’re here to make life easier, not harder.

💬 Why It Matters

Because what children eat shapes how they feel, how they behave, how they sleep, and how they grow.

We’re not aiming for perfection. We’re not trying to eliminate joy from food. We’re simply building healthy habits from the inside out — and giving children the tools, experiences, and exposure they need to make better choices long-term.

At Wonderbloom, food is never an afterthought. It’s part of the care, the connection, and the community we’re building — one delicious, balanced bite at a time.
