Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section! Here, we’ve compiled answers to the most common questions parents have about Wonderbloom Nursery. If you have any more questions, please use our chat or contact us form.

What sessions do you offer?We are open 8am-6pm Monday - Friday. We offer full and half day sessions 8am-1pm, 1pm-6pm or 8am-6pm. We offer early drop off for those who require it from 07.30am. We offer all year contracts, being open 50 weeks per year. Your child can attend the sessions they have booked but may arrive and be collected any time you like within these times. You do not have to pick up at 6pm, if you wish to collect earlier.

When is Wonderbloom Nursery closed?We do not open on bank holidays. We close the last week of August every year plus the week between Xmas and New Year. These are not charged for.

Do you offer term time options?No, we do not. Only all year contracts.

What is the ratio of staff to children at Wonderbloom?We always meet the EYFS requirements for staff:child ratios in the building. EYFS ratios are: Under 2's 1:3 2 Year Old 1:5 3 Year Old 1:8 or 1:13 We strive to operate on the below ratios, enhancing these over the EYFS requirements to: Under 2's 1:3 2 Year Old 1:4 3 Year Old 1:5

What age groups do you cater to?From 6 months to 5 Years

What qualifications do your staff have?All our staff are either qualified in Early Years Education or currently undergoing their qualification. We have a range of levels from Level 6 - Level 2 qualified staff.

What is your staff retention like?We have excellent staff retention records, since we believe in supporting the well-being of our employees. Without them, we cannot do what we do! So we ensure they are very well looked after, to allow them to offer your children their best.

How do I enroll my child at Wonderbloom Nursery?1. Please first book a tour with us to come and see what we offer, by using the website contact page. 2. Complete a registration form after your tour. 3. Pay £100 registration fee. 4. You will then be placed on our waiting list, if you start date is more than 6 weeks in advance. If you are starting before that, your place will be confirmed ASAP.

Is there a waiting list, and how do I get on it?We do operate a waiting list for those wishing to start more than 6 weeks in advance. Please come see us for a tour and then complete a registration form to be put on our waiting list, which involves a £100 registration fee.

How much are the fees?Please see our 'Fees' Page for full details on costings. Fees are payable a month in advanced on the 30th of each month.

Do you accept government funding?Yes we do, for all age groups.

What is your policy on settling-in periods for new children?We offer 2 or 3 settling in periods based on how many sessions children start on when they join us. The first session is for one hour with a parent/carer coming in too. The second will be 1.5 - 2 hours long, where the child attends alone. If a third is offered, (this is for those doing full days) a lunch period and nap period will be included. These are free to attend.

What does a normal day look like?Each day is very different at Wonderbloom, but we have a flexible routine for the main parts of the day. Food Breakfast is served between 08.00-08.45 Snack is served between 09.30-10.15 Lunch is served between 11.00-12.00 Snack is served between 1.30-2.30 Supper is served at 4pm Sleep Older children (2+) will then tend to nap after lunch, if they wish to. Under 2's will nap on their home schedule and we adjust their meal times around these. Outside Time Older children (2+) have free flow access to their gardens on the ground floor of the building and can choose to learn inside or out. Babies have 2x per day garden visits, where they have their own area. Learning Around the above times, children are engaged in adult led and child chosen activities to work towards their own learning goals. Home Time We close at 6pm.

Can you cater for allergies?Yes we can! We are able to support all main dietry requirements and allergens.

What do I need to bring to nursery with me?We supply all food, milk, water, nappies, wipes, sleep sheets etc. We ask parents to supply 2x named sets of spare clothes, comforters, bottles, outdoor and indoor shoes and appropriate outdoor weather clothing.

How do I know how my child's day has been?We have a 'real time' app for reporting of all meals, toileting, sleep and incidents and accidents, which you can see anytime from your phone. We do daily photo updates for each class with a description of what the children have been doing activity wise in the day. We will always will call if your child is very unsettled during the day and keep you updated. We handover to you at pick up about your child's day too.
